Business Problem
The Village had a very outdated website that could not be updated, nor was it mobile friendly. The village was also falling behind in requirements to provide residents with updated ordinances and public reports. The Village lawyer required access to update the ordinances.
Solutions
The Village of Shabbona worked with Ablesoft to create a user-friendly design that was modern and attractive to both residents and potential visitors, along with being mobile-friendly. Meeting agendas and minutes were added, easily accessible to village residents. Pertinent forms and contact information were also included. Log-in capabilities were provided to both the Village Clerk and the Village lawyer in order to make necessary site updates.
Results
Site visitors can easily access public information from a desktop or a mobile device. Potential visitors can easily see upcoming events in the area, while residents can view board meeting agendas and minutes, pay their utilities online, view the latest newsletter and stay current with announcements and Village ordinances. The Village Clerk can easily log-in and update the website content including: images, announcements, ordinances, reports, and contact information.
